Stamp prices are on the rise again, could this be the death of postal mail?

When was the last time you put a stamp on something and then mailed it?

Can you even remember? Bills are paid online, no one sends letters or birthday cards anymore?

With the debut of the “forever” first class postage stamps about 10 years ago, do you even remember the price of a first class stamp? For the record, today a First-Class Forever postage stamp costs 55 cents. I insist on the word ‘today’ because the cost of these stamps increases (again) in August 29, 2021.

The cost after August 29, 2021 for a First Class postage stamp will cost you 58 cents, an increase of 3 cents. If you purchase the “Forever” stamps now, you will not need to add any additional shipping costs when the increase occurs. You can simply put one of these stamps on your letter or card and it will magically appear where it is supposed to be within 3-7 business days.

Send postcards? Yes, I think I’m the only person who enjoys sending (and receiving) postcards. The cost of a “Forever” postcard stamp also increases on 8/29/2021. Currently, these stamps cost 36 cents and they will go up to 40 cents each.

The USPS also said they would temporarily increase the costs of packages for the “holiday season.” They define the holiday season from October 3, 2021 to December 26, 2021. The planned “temporary” increase will cost you between 75 cents and $ 5, depending on the destination of your package and the level of service you select.
