A 16-year-old boy in Mumbai killed himself on Thursday after his mother wouldn’t allow him to play mobile games. Police say he jumped in front of a train after leaving a suicide note for his mother.

According to Dindoshi police, the boy’s mother took his phone Wednesday night while he was playing games on his mobile phone and asked him to study. Then he wrote a suicide note and left the house.

When his mother arrived home and read the note, she said he was going to kill himself and would never come back. The family members then informed the Dindoshi Police Station and the police began to search for the boy.

After the police were informed that someone had jumped in front of a train between Malad and Kandivali stations, they rushed to the scene. An investigation revealed that it was the same boy who had left the suicide note.

The Borivali Government Railway Police (GRP) registered a case and opened a further investigation into the matter.
