Kidderminster pub takes it to the next level with new retro gaming arcade
A pub in KIDDERMINSTER town center is set to launch its own retro game arcade later this month.
Gamers will be able to play their favorite ’80s video games at the Bull Ring Pennies pub as part of its new upgrade.
The new family attraction will be called The Penny Arcade, named after Roy Orbison’s song.
An area of the pub will be dedicated to the new arcade, which will feature a driving machine, a mothership competition console with more than 3,300 games, table football, a grabbing machine and a train ride for the kids. .
There will also be regular play competitions at the pub.
Pennies owner Adam Wilcox has said he wants to bring guests back to their youth and provide entertainment for families who eat at the pub.
He aims to introduce something different to the city after thinking about ways to scale his business through the pandemic.
Mr Wilcox said: “There is nothing like it in the city center.
“You need to escape and the classic retro game will do that. It’s about giving people nostalgia.
“We’re going to have regular competitions and different events.
“I think it’s going to be really great for people who want to let go and enjoy a good game.”
